Ship Borne Waste

Wastes generated on board cargo vessels can be divided into residuals, recyclabes, hazardous wastes, cargo residues, swilling-out water and slops.

Proper collection, disposal and treatment of these wastes is necessary for maintaining a healthy environment and for securing good living conditions for upcoming generations. 

Waste reception facilities for cargo vessels along the Danube already exist, but with the transnational- coordinated approach, WANDA aims at the coverage of high level future demands of modern waste management.
